Diligence
IC reviewed
The allocation target is what CoinBrowse is seeking to secure in this round — not the amount Kiteframe Storage is raising in total.
Investment thesis
Decentralised storage is cheap and close to unusable: deal-making, retrieval latency, no service level. Kiteframe sits in front of it, presents an S3 API, and backs a 90-second retrieval guarantee with hot replicas paid for out of margin. Customers never need to know Filecoin is underneath. 2.1PB is under annual contract for eleven media and research customers.
Principal risks
Margin is the spread between Filecoin storage cost and the contracted price, so a rise in FIL storage pricing compresses it directly.
The retrieval guarantee is met with centrally operated hot replicas — a real dependency on Kiteframe itself.
Two customers represent 44% of stored capacity.
Milestones
- 2.1PB under annual contract across eleven customers — shipped
- 90-second retrieval SLA with automated service credits — in progress
- Third-party operators running the hot replica tier — planned
