The allocation target is what CoinBrowse is seeking to secure in this round — not the amount Harborline Relay is raising in total.

Investment thesis

IBC works, but somebody has to pay a relayer to move each packet, and today that somebody is usually a foundation running relayers at a loss. Harborline makes relaying a bonded service: operators stake, quote a fee, and are slashed for late or missed packets. Chains pay per packet instead of running infrastructure. 31 chain pairs are covered and packet volume has grown every month since launch without subsidy.

Principal risks

  • Fee revenue per packet is small, so the network needs high volume before operator economics work without emissions.

  • Slashing parameters have not been tested against a prolonged chain halt on one side of a pair.

  • Cosmos-native today; the EVM path exists on paper but no code has been written.

Milestones

  • 31 chain pairs live with bonded operators and slashing — shipped
  • Fee market with operator quoting and packet auctions — in progress
  • Ethereum light-client path for non-Cosmos pairs — planned
