Diligence

Review in progress

The allocation target is what CoinBrowse is seeking to secure in this round — not the amount Everset Rollup is raising in total.

Investment thesis

General-purpose L2s make poor exchanges: shared blockspace means an unrelated mint can widen spreads. Everset runs one application, sequences deterministically, and posts proofs to Ethereum. The venue it was built for already clears $70m of monthly notional on a centralised stack and has committed to migrate. Value accrues from sequencer fees, which are visible from the first block.

Principal risks

  • A single sequencer is operated by the team; the decentralisation plan exists but no external sequencer has ever been run.

  • The economics depend on one venue migrating — if that slips, there is no second tenant.

  • Proof costs on Ethereum are the largest line item and scale with volume rather than with revenue.

Milestones

  • Testnet running the full matching engine at 40ms blocks — shipped
  • Mainnet launch carrying the anchor venue's order flow — targeted Q1
  • Permissionless sequencer set with stake-based rotation — planned
