IC reviewed

The allocation target is what CoinBrowse is seeking to secure in this round — not the amount Cairn Mesh is raising in total.

Investment thesis

Rural ISPs cannot justify their own tower builds below a few hundred subscribers. Cairn puts a relay on an existing rooftop, pays the owner monthly in CRNM, and sells guaranteed backhaul to the ISP on a two-year contract. Revenue arrives in dollars from ISPs; the token pays hosts. 1,180 relays are live across four US states.

Principal risks

  • Host payouts are denominated in CRNM while revenue is contracted in dollars, so a sustained price fall raises the real cost of running the network.

  • Spectrum rules differ by state, and two planned regions have no confirmed licensing path.

  • Relay hardware is single-sourced from one manufacturer with a 14-week lead time.

Milestones

  • 1,180 relays live across four states — shipped
  • Automated host payout with uptime attestation — in progress
  • Second hardware supplier qualified — targeted Q2
