The allocation target is what CoinBrowse is seeking to secure in this round — not the amount Boreal Credit is raising in total.
Investment thesis
Freight brokers wait 30 to 60 days to be paid and borrow expensively to bridge it. Boreal buys the receivable at a discount, posts the invoice reference and the debtor's payment history on-chain, and lets lenders price each pool themselves. The first 340 loans have run through a single Nordic broker network with two write-offs — early, but repayment data rather than a projection.
Principal risks
The loan book is one broker network deep, so a single counterparty failure would touch most of the outstanding balance.
Invoice verification depends on an off-chain data provider under a one-year contract.
Recovering a defaulted invoice requires a court process in the debtor's jurisdiction, which the protocol cannot enforce.
Milestones
- 340 loans originated and 338 repaid on the private book — shipped
- Open lender pools with per-pool risk tranching — in progress
- Second broker network in a different jurisdiction — targeted H2
